Coke: Plastic Can
(1985)
This can has been emptied via a small hole in the bottom to prevent imploding.

This Coke can has a clear stripe where the normal sliver stripe ran down the side of the can and in the background of the "Recyclable Plastic Can" text is. This plastic can was part of a test market in 1985, designed as a "recycle friendly" alternative to aluminum. However plastic cans were never brought to market because they couldn't support the weight of other cases on top of them.
